Increasing Diversity in Actor Training
Theatre students and actors in training are struggling with how to navigate more diverse and progressive ideals with a lack of reciprocity in training materials and professor perspectives. Students are now, and always have been, pushing educators and administrators in a more progressive direction. So how do we address these gaps and push for an education that represents the diverse voices of the world? The author states that:
“Introducing post-colonial, critical race, materialist, and feminist theories encourages students to examine canonical texts through a resistant lens.”
